OUR VINEYARDS
The grapes used to produce our wine El Descanso come from two of Chile’s most prominent fine wine regions: the Aconcagua and Colchagua valleys. These regions are known for having climate and soil conditions that contribute towards the exceptional quality of Chilean wines.
COLCHAGUA VALLEY
The Colchagua Valley is a renowned wine region in central Chile, around 130 kilometres to the south-west of Santiago. It’s recognized as being one of Chile’s foremost wine-producing regions and stands out for its red wines, especially those made from the Carmenère variety.
The region has a Mediterranean climate that favours grape growing and the soils are suitable for producing high-quality wines.
ACONCAGUA VALLEY
The Aconcagua is a well-known wine region in central Chile that is widely known for its contribution to Chile’s wine industry and production of wines of excellent quality. The altitude and the influence of the River Aconcagua are among the factors that contribute to the singular character of the wines from this region.
